{"id":5266,"date":"2023-04-21T20:44:01","date_gmt":"2023-04-21T20:44:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greenseal.org\/?p=5266"},"modified":"2025-07-21T18:28:44","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T18:28:44","slug":"announcing-green-seals-2023-impact-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greenseal.org\/announcing-green-seals-2023-impact-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Announcing Green Seal\u2019s 2023 Impact Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In celebration of Earth Day, Green Seal released its <a href=\"https:\/\/impact.greenseal.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2023 Impact Report<\/a>, showcasing how we and our partners are accelerating the transition to safer and more sustainable products and spaces.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report highlights the impacts of Green Seal\u2019s programs; key partnerships with organizations including Amazon, Wayfair, the U.S. Green Building Council, ISEAL, Health Product Declaration Collaborative, and others; and the environmental savings achieved by products that bear the Green Seal mark.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Green Seal exists to empower organizations and people to effect large-scale, transformative change simply through their purchasing choices.&nbsp; That\u2019s why the report focuses on impacts achieved by Green Seal-certified products, their producers, and their users, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ensuring Clean Water: <\/strong>Green Seal-certified sanitary paper products saved <strong>12.4 billion<\/strong> gallons of water in 2022&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minimizing Waste:<\/strong> Green Seal-certified cleaning products save <strong>1.7 billion<\/strong> industry-grade 1-liter plastic bottles each year&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Preserving the Climate:<\/strong> Green Seal-certified sanitary paper saved <strong>12.5 million<\/strong> tons of CO2 emissions annually due to 100% recycled content&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Protecting Human Health:<\/strong> Green Seal-certified cleaning products protected <strong>9.6 million<\/strong> students and teachers from toxic chemicals and asthma triggers in 2022&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2023 Impact Report also highlights Green Seal\u2019s new initiatives \u2014 including a sustainable packaging recognition program and leadership-level prohibitions on PFAS in certified products \u2014 and features case studies of companies that adhere to Green Seal\u2019s strict science-based standard criteria and demonstrate significant leadership.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Green Seal\u2019s market transformation model proves anything, it\u2019s that collective action drives impact.
