This year\u2019s annual report highlights the impacts of Green Seal\u2019s programs; key partnerships with organizations including Wayfair, the U.S. Green Building Council, ISEAL, Health Product Declaration Collaborative, and others; and the combined environmental savings achieved by products that bear the Green Seal mark.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report focuses on impacts achieved by Green Seal-certified products, their producers, and their users, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Protecting Human Health:<\/strong> Green Seal-certified cleaning products protected <strong>9.6 million<\/strong> students and teachers from toxic chemicals and asthma triggers in 2022.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Preserving the Climate:<\/strong> Green Seal-certified sanitary paper saves <strong>12.5 million <\/strong>metric tons of carbon emissions each year, the equivalent of taking 2.7 million cars off the road.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ensuring Clean Water: <\/strong>Green Seal-certified sanitary paper, made with 100% recycled fiber, reduced manufacturing water use by <strong>12.4 billion<\/strong> gallons in 2022, and prevented 500,000 pounds of persistent pollutants from contaminating water bodies thanks to chlorine-free manufacturing processes.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minimizing Waste:<\/strong> Green Seal-certified cleaning products save <strong>1.7 billion<\/strong> industry-grade 1-liter plastic bottles each year.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s clear that Green Seal offers a powerful model for collective impact, and even more clear that we have an obligation to apply it in bold new ways,\u201d <strong>said Doug Gatlin, CEO of Green Seal<\/strong>. \u201cGreen Seal is meeting the moment with ambitious initiatives to address some of the most intractable health and environmental problems of our time.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2023 Impact Report also highlights Green Seal\u2019s new initiatives \u2014 including a sustainable packaging recognition program and strict prohibitions on PFAS in certified products \u2014 and features case studies of companies that adhere to Green Seal\u2019s strict science-based standard criteria and demonstrate significant leadership.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur brand is aligned with Green Seal\u2019s mission to use science-based programs to empower consumers and companies to create a more sustainable world,\u201d <strong>said Jelina Saliu, President of Safely<\/strong>, a new household brand that has partnered with Green Seal to certify products across its portfolio, including laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, hand cream, glass cleaner, and all-purpose cleaner. \u201cWe believe that when it comes to caring for your home, consumers shouldn\u2019t have to compromise.
